At this week’s Tuesday Turn About link party, I am sharing some beautiful ideas for decorating your door for fall! These features will inspire you to create a wreath or wall basket for your fall home. Tuesday Turn About Link Party #218

Welcome to this week’s Tuesday Turn About Link Party!

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Labor Day weekend! How did you spend it?

This week we started the school year…my husband teaches high school and I teach kindergarten. After a full week with the kiddos and curriculum night, we were tired!

So this weekend, we spent a couple of low-key days at home…catching up on laundry, yard work, and shopping. Then we ventured up to the Berkshires in Massachusetts to see John Legend with some friends. It was a beautiful night of good company, delicious food, and the most amazing music.

Now that Labor Day has come and gone, are you thinking about fall? Although it’s hot and humid here in Connecticut and doesn’t feel much like fall, I know that it’s right around the corner.

To welcome fall each year, I love to hang a seasonal wreath or basket on my front door. So this week, I am sharing some beautiful ideas for decorating your door for fall! These features will inspire you to create a wreath or wall basket for your fall home.

Lynne’s Household Tip

My cousin, Michele, and I recently went antiquing and we each found copper pieces. Michele bought a tea kettle and I bought a mold.

Cleaning the copper and bringing back its original shine was much easier than I thought it would be. I mixed equal parts salt and flour and then added white vinegar to create a paste. I carefully applied the paste all over the copper piece and gently rubbed it in a circular motion with a soft, clean cloth. Then I rinsed the excess paste from copper piece and dried it.

  1. Lynne,
I have lots of copper because I kept it from 30+ years ago….LOL! I use a commercial brand to clean my copper pieces but I will definitely try the one you posted…Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hi Lynne – Thank you so much for featuring my wreath! That was very kind of you. I love the Berkshires and was happy to read you were able to see/hear John Legend. I think concerts in the the Berkshires are a little magical. Especially this time of year. Thank you for hosting this link party!

  3. Michelle, I love all the fall wreaths. I also cleaned up a grimy copper bowl the way you did and was amazed that the salt didn’t scratch or pit the copper. Great method! I can only imagine how tired you & your hubby were after a week of working with the kids in their first week back – lots of adjusting in those for days for kids and adults! Appreciate ya for your chosen vocation and this little blog avocation!
