DIY Fall Wreath

This weekend fall arrives! It’s the time of year when I am craving the warm colors of autumn in my home. So it is the perfect time to make a wreath! Today I am going to show you how easy it is to use artificial fall greenery and flowers to create a beautiful fall wreath. This wreath is similar to this simple fall wreath that I shared last year. I hope you enjoy it and make one for yourself!

How to make a homemade autumn wreath?

This wreath comes together so easily, in about 30 minutes, similar to some of my other seasonal wreaths:

diy fall wreath process: using zip ties to adhere boxwood garland to grapevine wreath and eucalyptus greenery

Easy Step by Step Wreath Assembly

  • Lay your boxwood garland on top of the grapevine wreath. Then, using zip ties, attach the garland to a piece of the grapevine. Pull the zip tie tight to secure the garland. Clip off any excess piece of the zip tie.
  • Cut the stems apart, leaving a few inches of the stem.
  • Arrange the eucalyptus stems. I like to alternate placing the stems on the inside of the wreath and the outside of the wreath.
  • When you are happy with the placement, bend the stem and add some hot glue. Tuck the stem into the wreath. BE VERY CAREFUL when using hot glue! I highly recommend using these hot glue finger protectors. You may also want to use a popsicle stick to tuck and press the stems into the wreath.

  • Repeat the process with the fall leaves, alternating the placing the stems on the inside and outside of the wreath.
  • Add the sedum, mums, and wild daisies.
  • When finished, use the satin ribbon to create a bow. Add a piece of floral wire to attach the bow to the wreath.

  • Lastly, make a hanger from ribbon, twine or floral wire. Attach it to the back of the wreath.
  • Hang and enjoy!
