Last summer, my family and I freshened up our first floor half bathroom. We painted the walls, installed bead board wallpaper, new baseboard trim and chair rail. The cabinet and tile counter also received a fresh coat of paint.

It was definitely an improvement, but what really tied it all together was updating the flooring.Ā  We didn’t replace the flooring. It just wasn’t in our budget. Instead, we used stickers…tile stickers. These tile floor stickers from SnazzyDecal have been a beautiful, simple, and affordable solution to updating the tile. They are waterproof, scratch resistant, removable, and were so easy to install. Being removable, these tile stickers are a great solution for rental properties too. You can read all about these tile stickers in my original post!

I am often asked how the tile stickers are holding up.Ā  Well, almost a year later, I am happy to report that this flooring update is wearing well.

As time had passed, there were a few places where the corners had curled a bit. I had a couple extra, so I easily replaced them.Ā  If you don’t have extra, you can easily add a dab of glue to secure the corners back down.Ā  It is an easy fix.

It is important to remember that I used these in a half bath. There is no tub or shower, so thereā€™s not a great deal of moisture in the room. The tile floor stickers only get wet when I wash and mop the floor.

So, would I use these floor tile stickers again?Ā  Definitely!Ā  I love the look, ease of use, and durability of this product. After almost one year later, these tile stickers from Snazzy Decal are still a stylish, simple, and affordable solution to updating tile in your home.

You can also find a wide variety of Snazzy Decals patterns and styles over on Amazon too!Ā  These decals come in a variety of sizes and can be used anywhere. They have tile stickers to update your stair risers, backsplash, and along with your floors.

Thank you to those of you who had commented on my original post!Ā  I hope this update is helpful!

Have you used tile stickers in your home?Ā  If you could, where would you use them?Ā  I would love to hear your ideas!

  1. many years ago I used 4×4 tile stickers in my shower and tub area. They were very easy to put up and lasted the many years that I lived there. I think it only took me about 15-20 minutes to install but the pattern was a very simple one to follow. I would do it again, if I can find a pattern I like. Maybe it’s time to update my tired beige floor tile!

    1. So glad you found this helpful! These were very easy to install. Please let me know if you use them. I would love to hear how they worked for you!

  2. Did you put any sort of epoxy or gel sealer on top? I have the stickers down but you canā€™t still feel the edges of the stickers. I was looking to put a layer of epoxy over top. Thoughts?

    1. Hi Alyssa! Thank you for your comment. I didn’t put any sealer on top. If you feel like the edges of the stickers are coming up, you can just add a few dabs of glue to secure them. Hope this is helpful!

I love seeing how these alternatives hold-up over the long haul! Thanks for sharing Lynne! And for linking at Tuesday Turn About!

  4. Our three bathrooms have been on the update me list for more than a year including the tile. Hubs doesn’t want to replace the tile, our large dog will be really hard on paint. This might be a good alternative for me. Thank you for the update on its wear and tear.

    1. Thank you so much, Leanna! I am not sure how it will hold up with a large dog, but it is definitely worth a try. I love the patterns and how easy it is to use! Please let me know if you use it. I would love to hear your feedback. Wishing you a great week!

How would a steam mop affect these?

    1. I appreciate your kind words, Lauren! It looks like you had an amazing trip to Vermont. We missed you at Haven and hope to see you again soon! xo

  6. Who would have known that these would hold up so well! They look fantastic, and obviously this is a quick and easy way to add an update to a small room! It still looks great!

    1. Thanks so much, Chloe! I am so happy that they are still in great shape a year later! Hope you’re having a great week! xo

I just finished installing these in my laundry room. Same pattern as yours, but larger tile (13 x 13) & I got them in black & white. It was extremely easy to put these down. Only took me about an hour. It looks amazing!! I’m going to go back over the edges with a small roller I found in my garage – was probably used for wallpaper.
My tile & grout were a beige color before, so I painted the grout with a porch, floor & patio paint. Now I think I need to seal the grout

    1. Yay! I am so excited to hear that you used them and had a great experience! Please send me a picture. I would love to see them! šŸ™‚

  8. Hi! The floor looks wonderful! Iā€™d love to do that in my half bath but the tiles on the floor are very small. Does the floor have to be all smooth to be able to use these?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Ellen! Thank you so much for your kind comment! I have small tiles in one of my bathrooms too. I do think that would work best on smooth tiles. I hope this is helpful to you. Have a wonderful week!

  9. Mine is a Question…l have the 1 x 1ā€ ceramic tile in a putrid beige. Would these work on that??

    1. Hi Kathy, I’m sorry, but I’m not sure if these stickers will work on a tile that small. You may want to consider painting your tile. They sell paint specific for tile and you can stencil. I hope this is helpful!

Thank you soo much for your honesty.

  10. Hello – I love your project and update. I am looking at adding Snazzy Decals to my bathroom floor and I was noticing that they say not to have the decal go over any curved edges on the tile and only order the tile to be as large as the flat portion. It looks like the type of tile that you were applying to were curved, how did you handle that? Did you leave the grout renew a little wider than the actual grout? Thank you!

    1. Hi Anna, Thank you so much for your comment and question. I did this project a few year back and didn’t see that specific direction at that time. My tiles are ever so slightly curved and I didn’t have any issues with it. Leaving the grout renew sounds like it might be a great solution. I am sorry I can’t be more helpful, but am looking forward to hearing how your project came out. šŸ™‚
