Welcome the new season with simple Spring decorating ideas!

It’s finally starting to feel like spring Connecticut and I couldn’t be happier. The days are getting longer, the cheerful chirping of birds has returned, and greenery is beginning to emerge. Spring is a season of new beginnings, so this is the perfect time for me to return to blogging. I had taken a little break, and this is my first post in a several months. I am so happy to be back and am so happy to connect with you!

Friends always use our back door and come right into our kitchen. I like to hang a seasonal wreath on the back door and I made this easy DIY floral spring wreath a couple of years ago. It adds a fresh, fun pop of color!

I’ve kept things simple and cozy in our home this spring. Fresh linens, greenery, and florals help to make our home a little happier. After all, our homes should be a place of joy and comfort, and this spring I hope our home is just that.

This elegant, block-print tablecloth caught my eye and I knew it would be the perfect pattern for my neutral kitchen. The simple blue and green print adds a fresh style and pattern to the room.

Flowers are my favorite Spring decor and a great way to brighten up any space. Real or faux, I love them all! A pretty flower arrangement of pink Peony Tulips, yellow Hyacinth, and blue Muscari in a vintage Ball Mason jar makes me smile.

Along with the flowers, the woven tray holds plates and napkins, topped with a couple of decoupaged Easter eggs, and a candle from a local shop. Clustering items with different textures and colors adds to a simple, yet cozy feel.

It’s always nice to have a treat ready! This white mini cake stand and dome is a treasure that I received from our local Buy Nothing group. Today it is holding vanilla bean scones. Tying on a piece of ribbon adds a soft texture and beautiful color.

From this view, you can catch a glimpse of our front hallway. My husband, Andy, and I added the DIY board and batten a few years ago. It was such an easy and inexpensive project. It still amazes me how much it has changed the space and for so little.

I love to make wreaths and this vibrant fuchsia spring tulip wreath is one of my favorite wreaths that I have made! Would you believe that it came together in less than 30 minutes? I may make another one this spring.

As you peek through the doorway, you will see our dining room. Let’s head in!

Our dining room is painted a beautiful shade of blue called Slate Blue by Benjamin Moore.

This antique table is one of the first gifts my husband bought me when we were first married. I love to decorate it for each season. The table is covered with a vintage linen runner we purchased several years ago at a flea market.

My great-grandfather’s tool chest holds vintage dishes, along with linen napkins. I hung an artificial wreath on the mirror to add greenery. My DIY topiary was repotted into a beautiful blue and white Chinoiserie planter. More fresh flowers give a nod to spring.

Do you know the interior designer and author, Nora Murphy? I really admire her. A couple of years ago, I visited her beautiful shop here in Connecticut and purchased this vintage tray from her. It’s one of my favorites!

My spring dining room table is dressed in another block print tablecloth. This one is from Saffron Marigold. The colors and botanical print are perfect for spring!

Would you believe that these blooms are all artificial? I found these life-like snowball stems on Etsy and was so pleasantly surprised with how realistic they are!

On the table, I used my favorite Nantucket dishes. They are simple and neutral, yet elegant. For each place setting, I personalized wood tags using my Cricut, and added an artificial tulip to each one. It is simple table, yet feels so cozy and comfortable.
