Counting down to Christmas is always fun…no matter what age you are! I am so excited to share this simple advent calendar with you. It is made with some paper craft supplies from Hobby Lobby and this free printable. I have been wanting to make this for a couple of years now, but time can just slip away from me. I was determined to do it this year! Once I made it, I realized how easy it was and I should have done it sooner.
To make your own DIY Advent Calendar, you will need:
Supplies:
- mini envelopes
- number stickers
- tags
- mini clothespins
- card stock
- ribbon
- decorations (bells, mini ornaments, ribbon, etc. I found this season mini signs from Target’s Dollar Spot.)
Directions:
- Print out the printable ideas on card stock. If you have your own ideas, you can just type them and print them out…or hand write them!
- Put each idea in a small envelope. You can always add a treat or two as well! I am thinking Andes Candies might be a sweet addition!
- Put the numbers on each tag. I used a combination of brown paper tags, as well as the silver and gold.
- Add a piece of string onto each number tag and clip it on the envelope using the mini clothespins.
- Then just clip your envelopes onto a piece of ribbon and enjoy!
You can make your DIY advent calendar on anything you can hang your ribbon on! You can use a mini tabletop Christmas tree like I did, or maybe a mantle, a window frame or a mirror. Where would you put your DIY advent calendar?
