Easy and Delicious Crockpot Chili
This easy and delicious homemade chili recipe is classic recipe that can be made in the crockpot or on the stovetop.

- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion
- 1 15.5 oz can dark red kidney beans
- 1 15.5 oz can light red kidney beans
- 1 15 oz can of tomato sauce
- 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce
- 1 cup salsa
- 4 tbsp chili seasoning (2 packets)
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
Brown the ground beef and onion until cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
Pour the beef and onion mixture into your Crockpot.
Then just add remaining ingredients.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours. 30 minutes before you serve, take the lid off of the crockpot to allow the chili to thicken up.
To make this recipe on the stovetop:
Make this chili in an aluminum or stainless steel pot on your stovetop. Brown the ground beef and onion in your pot until cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
Then just add remaining ingredients. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring consistently to be sure it does not burn. Then cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer on low for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. For the last 20-30 minutes, simmer uncovered. This will help to reduce the liquid and encourage the chili to thicken.
Variations:
- Consider making this chili with ground turkey instead of beef.
- Add some veggies! Carrots, pepper, or corn make great additions to this chili
