Tuesday Turn About #164 Cozy Up Your Home

Are you anticipating the upcoming season and thinking about how to cozy up your home for fall? I am excited to share this week’s creative, seasonal features at Tuesday Turn About!

Hello Friends and Welcome!

I hope you are having a great start to your week! The weather has been glorious here in Connecticut and our early mornings are beginning to feel like fall. I actually contemplated grabbing a sweatshirt before heading out early this morning!

While I am not quite ready for pumpkins, I am starting to think about transitioning my home decor and cozying up our space. This week’s features are all great ideas for adding texture, creativity, and warmth to your home.

Weekly Household Tip

Clean your fruit with baking soda? Yes!

In a mixing bowl, add one teaspoon of baking soda for every two cups of cold water. Stir to dissolve.

Remove vines and outer leaves from your produce. Submerge the fruit/vegetables in the water and let it soak for about 10-15 minutes. Use your finger to lightly rub the skin of the produce over running water.

Produce should be washed right before you plan to eat it.

Did you realize there were so many uses for baking soda? Read all about last week’s baking soda household tip here.

Cozy and Affordable Living Room Update

We all want our homes to feel feel cozy and inviting. In her Cozy Living Room Update, Heidi from Eleanor Rose Home added warmth to her living room with the addition of affordable linen curtains. I love how this simple and inexpensive update adds beautiful texture to her space, while still allowing the light to stream in.

Do you love a good dollar store DIY? This adorable fall sign from Emily of Hunny I’m Home is made from items from Dollar Tree, along with a few common craft supplies. Head over for this simple step by step for this DIY Dollar Tree fall decor.

I am thinking that I would love to make one for my kitchen or family room. Where would you display one of these signs in your home?

Late Summer Entry Table Styling

Michelle from Thistle Key Lane showed us how to begin to transition our decor for the upcoming season. The variety of textures, shapes, and natural warmth Michelle used in her Late Summer Entry Table Styling has me inspired to start transitioning my decor! I love the pop of yellow!
