Hello and Welcome!  I am glad you’re here!  Today I am joining  Debbie from Your Home, Your Happy Place  for the Bunny Hop, a three week, holiday entertaining blog hop.  A wonderful group of bloggers are opening up their homes to share a bit of spring and Easter decor with you.

After a long, cold, and snowy winter here in Connecticut, I am ready for the sweet sounds of birds chirping, colorful blooms, and the sun to bring its warmth.  I am ready for Spring. Spring is like a promise of a fresh new beginning. So to celebrate this upcoming season, I hung my DIY Springtime Wreath on our front door and decorated our dining table for Easter.

My Easter table, just like my home, is an eclectic mix of old and new.  I tend to be quite sentimental and enjoy incorporating old family treasures into my decorating. The memories that are attached to these items always bring a smile to my face.

I am not a decorator.  I am a mom, wife, and teacher, who just enjoys home decor.  I like to arrange and then rearrange to see how I can make good use of what I already have in my home.https://myfamilythyme.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Setting-an-Easter-Dining-Table-8.jpg

I like to start with linens as a base.  For this Easter table, I began with a simple white, textured runner that I picked up at Home Goods and light yellow place mats that I have had for several years.

Add to that a vintage tool box that belonged to my great grandfather, filled with mason jars of fresh pink tulips.  Fresh flowers can always bring life to a room.  These beautiful tulips were a great find at Trader Joe’s.  https://myfamilythyme.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Setting-a-simple-Easter-table-7.jpg

My grandmother’s milkglass, along with a couple of inexpensive mercury glass votive holders provide some symmetry to the table top, along with varied height.https://myfamilythyme.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/setting-a-simple-Easter-Table-4.jpg

The classic china that also belonged to my grandmother is complemented by these new Threshold Easter dishtowels from Target. I used the towels as napkins.  I love the soft pastel colors and festive patterns.  For just a couple of dollars each, they are both cute and inexpensive!

To each bowl, I added some decorative Easter grass and a pastel egg.  I personalized these styrafoam eggs using a chalkpen.  This little detail will let each family member know that I was thinking of them.https://myfamilythyme.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Setting-a-simple-Easter-table-2.jpg

Of course, some sweet treats will still find their way to this table.  I can’t put those out too early.  With two teens, who both have a sweet tooth, they will be gone rather quickly! 🙂

No matter how you choose to set your holiday table, I hope that it is surrounded by loved ones.

Have you begun decorating for Spring?  Please stop back next week when my friends and I will be sharing some delicious recipes for your Easter gathering.

  14. Lynne, I love your table! The vintage keepsakes of your grandmothers makes it so special. I have those same towels from Target probably a year old mine are. What beautiful eggs! I had not thought about using them as a place card for the table setting, that was genius. Your iridescent grass really makes the egg pop on your plate. And the tulips, real tulips! Such a great centerpiece to have real fresh flowers of the season. Gorgeous setting.
