Directions to make an Easter Bunny Reverse Canvas:

  1. Turn your canvas so that the back is facing you. Carefully use your utility knife to cut the canvas and
remove the canvas from the wood frame it is wrapped around.
  2. Trace the canvas around the outside of the frame. Trim the canvas inside of the traced line so that it fits on the back of the frame.
  3. Paint, stain, or wax the frame. (I applied Annie Sloan’s Dark Wax with a make-up wedge and wiped off excess with a paper towel.)
  4. Carefully use your glue gun to glue the canvas to the back of the frame.  Attach it so the natural colored side is facing the front and the white side is facing the back.
  5. Search for a bunny template in Cricut Design Space and cut it out using a Cricut Explore Air 2 machine.
  6. Using your glue gun, glue the paper bunny onto the canvas.
  7. Make a small bow with a thin ribbon to embellish. You might like to add a small pom-pom for the tail. (I thought I had some, but I had left them at school!)
  8. To make a bow, layer your pieces of ribbon with the widest on the bottom.
  9. Gather or pinch the ribbon together. Use an over, under pattern and then tie with the thinnest ribbon.
  10. Trim your bow to your desired length and glue it to the frame.

Of course, I made mine blue and white. Recently, I have been loving all things blue and white. This past week, I made these simple, but elegant Decoupage Easter Eggs.

This DIY Easter Bunny Reverse Canvas is such a cute and easy craft! It is so affordable too! This project only cost a couple of dollars to make. Wouldn’t this make a great Easter decoration?

Simply charming. I love the check pattern, and it looks perfect in your display.

  4. This is so cute, Lynne! Since you bought a bunch of frames, and this is a simple project, I have a school idea for you. This is something that I would have done when I was teaching that my 7th graders loved. I would make something for the blog and then I would use it as a giveaway at school. To enter the giveaway, the kids would get entries for doing stuff like turning homework in on time or getting above a certain grade on a test or quiz. It motivated them to do what they were supposed to do to earn chances to enter. I would display the giveaway item or items in my classroom and the kids LOVED entering, especially if I had multiple things to give away. They also loved it if the item was something that they could use as a present for their mom, grandmother, etc. This project would be perfect for this idea. Plus, you could make a bunch of them so that your kids would have a better chance of winning.

  5. Your adorable spring bunny is perfect. I love the coordinating ribbons and blue votive holder in your spring vignette.
