Hello and Welcome!  Today I am excited to be joining a talented group of blogging friends for the Patriotic Tablescape Blog Hop, hosted by my talented friend Chloe, from Celebrate and Decorate.  This blog hop is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for some Fourth of July inspiration.  I am so glad you are here!

Times are changing in my home.  My children are older, and lately they have been busy with work and trying to safely see friends before they go to college in the fall.  Gone are the days of the neighborhood bike parade and cookout at the pool to celebrate the Fourth of July.  It’s a little bittersweet.  What I can always rely on is our breakfast together.  So why not set a festive table to celebrate Independence Day? Last year I had shared my patriotic picnic on the porch. Today we are starting in my kitchen with a festive Fourth of July breakfast table.

A simple roll of red and white striped wrapping paper from the sale bin at Michael’s Craft Store acts as the perfect base for a patriotic table.  https://myfamilythyme.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Festive-Fourth-of-July-breakfast-table-2.jpg

Next I created a centerpiece.  I just shopped my home.  It’s so much fun to mix and match.  A blue and white star print napkin was placed in to my great grandfather’s vintage tool box.  I added some dollar store flags to a beautiful mix of flowers that were left from my daughter’s graduation last week.  I placed these mason jars full of blooms into the tool box and then added some cute striped paper straws.  https://myfamilythyme.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Festive-Fourth-of-July-centerpiece.jpg

For the place settings, I used my favorite round jute place mats.  I love using neutrals as a base and then changing up the decor with a variety of plates, napkins and accents. These cute gingham melamine plates were a great find at Big Lots last year.

For napkins, I used these cute fabric handkerchiefs that I had purchased last year at Dollar Tree.  The red, white, and blue stars and stripes are so much fun!  I also made a cute Bingo game using myfreebingocards.com for each place setting.  I am hoping my family will play a round or two!

I found another use for my Oui yogurt jars!  You may remember how I used them to create DIY faux mercury glass votive holders.  It was the first craft I did on Facebook Live as part of Craft and Chat Live!  I decided to use them make some red, white, and blue breakfast parfaits.  Strawberries, blueberries, and vanilla yogurt layered makes a delicious and nutritious start to the day.  The parfaits would go well with my family’s favorite Blueberry Muffin Breakfast Cake that I plan to bake that morning.

I am not sure what our Fourth of July will bring this year, but I know it will get off a good start!  How will you celebrate Independence Day?  However you choose to celebrate, I hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July!
