I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Now that the holiday season is officially upon us, it is time for entertaining and celebrating the season with friends and family!  What should you serve or bring?  How about this easy DIY charcuterie tray?  Made with a variety of cheeses and meats, this beautiful, festive appetizer is effortless to put together, but will be enjoyed by all!

One of my favorite things about a charcuterie board is that there are no rules or formula to follow.  I love being creative and assembling a combination of cheese, meat, and fruit to create a festive appetizer that will encourage guests to casually gather around.

To make your own charcuterie tray, start with a platter, board, or tray.  If you are bringing this to a pot-luck, a tray is the easiest, but use what you have.  This tray is actually one that my children made for me for Mother’s Day about 13 years ago.  I love their sweet little hand prints that are painted on it, but for today, I just covered it with a fabric napkin to give a neutral backdrop.

Then add dishes, boards, or baskets.  I like to mix and match colors and textures.

Lastly, just fill the board, mixing your ingredients. To make this board even easier to put together, I used a variety of Cabot cheese cracker cut slices, along with Boar’s Head pre-sliced meats.

I love using Cabot dairy products for their taste, quality, and convenience.  I just added some marinated olives, crackers, and filled in with fresh grapes and sprigs of rosemary.  What would you include in your tray? I would love to hear your ideas!

Wishing you a wonderful start to a beautiful holiday season!
