Merry Christmas! The holiday season is finally here! I am excited to welcome you for a Christmas holiday home tour!

Today I am honored and excited to join an amazing group of bloggers for the “Let’s Get Festive” Christmas Blog Hop, hosted by Rachelle from My Hubbard Home. If you are visiting from my friend Chloe’s blog, Celebrate and Decorate, welcome!

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. With it being such a challenging year, we all are ready for some Christmas cheer. It feels so good to welcome this holiday season. One of my favorite things about Christmas is the peaceful, warm glow of the candles and the lights. I brought in traditional greens, pops of red, and some of my favorite traditional decorations to make my home cheerful and cozy.  (I have included some affiliate links if you would like to know where to find some of the items in our home.)

Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of our home. Seasonal cedar wreaths, faux greenery, along with ribbon and candles with pops of red add a festive touch.

My talented friend, Pinar, from The Happiest Shop Ever made me the adorable red truck Christmas towel.  If you don’t know her, definitely check out her beautiful website!

Of course, a Christmas kitchen wouldn’t be complete without a hot cocoa bar.  We all need a sweet treat to warm up with on a cold winter’s night!

This year, I added this vintage Santa mug that belonged to my grandmother. This festive mug brings back beautiful childhood memories.

I had recently found these cute set of Santa mugs from Pottery Barn that reminded me of my grandmother’s mug.

Our holiday home wouldn’t be complete without mistletoe. This faux mistletoe is from the Hearth and Home collection at Target.

Let’s head through the hall into the living room. This DIY board and batten wall is one of my favorite projects from this past year. I am thinking of changing out the Martha’s Vineyard watercolor art with some new seasonal prints. What do you think?

Living Room

In the living room, I kept it simple by just creating some small vignettes with pops of festive tradition colors and candlelight.

I often change out pillows to create a new look, but recently I started to use pillow covers. Pillow covers make it so easy and inexpensive to change the look of a room. My friend, Pinar, from The Happiest Shop Ever recently made me this new monogrammed pillow cover. Isn’t this plaid with the fur trim so festive and fun?!

Remember this Ribbon Wrapped Ornament I recently shared? Instead of putting it on the tree, why not create a vignette? I  have just added it to a tray with some pine cones and faux greenery. I love mixing the mixture of colors and textures. So simple, inexpensive, and beautiful.

Almost twenty-five years ago, my husband gave me this sweet little Precious Moments nativity. Although my tastes have changed through the years, I would never trade in this nativity. It is so special to me. Do you have decorations that are meaningful to you?

Would you believe that this faux mercury glass votive holder is a simple DIY that was made from a yogurt jar?  I love the glow and sparkle it adds!

You may have noticed that we used all faux greenery this year. We recently added a new member to our family. This is Sadie. With this sweet little girl chewing everything in sight, we decided to use faux greenery and an artificial tree this year.  Have you had to make adjustments to your home and seasonal decorating for pets too?

  1. Lynne, You have added so many lovely vignettes throughout your home. The Precious Moments nativity is so sweet. I am like you, using pillow covers is such an easier way to change up the decor quickly for the holidays, AND so much easier to store pillow covers than actual pillows, right? Have a happy holiday season!

  2. Lynn, your home and the way you decorated it for the season feels like a warm hug. The pillow that Pinar made is lovely, and I’m was hoping you would share where you purchased the drape panels. Are they new to you? They look lovely in you kitchen dining area. I clicked over, but they only have the blue and a very soft pink ;(
Thanks for coming along for another fun seasonal hop.
    And Happy Holidays to you!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words and for organizing such a fun tour! I purchased the panels at Target. They are the blue ones and I am very happy with them. I hope this is helpful to you. Merry Christmas, my friend! xo

  3. Lynne your home is so beautiful. You added the perfect holiday touches and that Precious Moments nativity is so sweet. I love using special items like that in my decor even if it does not necessarily go with anything else.I am so happy to be on the tour with you and wishing you and your family a happy holiday.
