When I found this table at a used furniture store 15 years ago, it didn’t look like this. Actually, up until yesterday, it didn’t look like this.
I have been wanting to refinish this table, but kept putting it off because…well, I tend to procrastinate.
I often think that projects are bigger than they really are.
Thanks to finding a local shop that carries Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, this transformation took less than a day.
I chose French Linen. It is a beautiful taupe-grey… a gorgeous neutral color.
I first had to wipe down all of the dust…a little embarrassing.
Then, all it took was about 20 minutes of painting. I love that this paint requires no priming.
Then after letting it dry for the day, it took about five minutes of distressing…sanding some of the edges with a fine sanding block.
Probably another ten minutes of wiping it down and waxing…
The wax has the consistency of shortening. A little goes a long way.
Then just buff. I knew those old t-shirts would come in handy at some point!
Add one Hobby Lobby knob…at 50%
Violla…why didn’t I do this sooner?
Now, when I peek into the guestroom, I smile. 🙂
I love that feeling of accomplishment a finished project brings!
What projects are you tackling this weekend? I would love to hear your thoughts.
