“Do we have any bacon?” is a frequent question that I get from my seventeen year old boy. For him, it could be a food group of its own.
While my boy loves this breakfast delight, I don’t enjoy making it. I’ve tried frying it and baking it, but it always results in a greasy mess. I would never make it on a weekday. That is, until recently.
We were visiting some dear friends in North Carolina a few months back. My friend, Mary Ann, suggested we make some bacon for breakfast, as her daughters were getting ready for school. I was a little skeptical…did we have time? Then she showed me the easiest, quickest way to make bacon, with virtually no mess. 🙂
Layer 2 paper towels on a microwave save plate. Lay bacon flat and cover with two more paper towels. Then microwave 5 minutes (time may need to be adjusted depending on your microwave.)
Seriously…that’s it??!! Just throw away the paper towels and enjoy the crispy goodness.
Am I the only one who didn’t realize how easy it was to cook bacon in the microwave? Thanks Mary Ann! CJ thanks you too! 🙂
Do you have any “tricks” that you use in the kitchen to save time and help with clean-up? I would love to hear your thoughts.
